So for some reason I just felt I’m going to post. Life is crazy and getting crazier but you know what I am going to take the time to post. If there is anybody out there……….. hello… hello…. porbably not anymore but what the heck. Life is good, crazy but good. We are in the process of buying our first house, wohooo, oldest graduating kindergarten, 2nd kiddo graduated preschool, 3rd kiddo getting potty trained, and 4th kiddo learning to sit up all by herself!  Hubby and I are going to be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary and first house, too cool! So during all this mess I still find my self crocheting and knitting and on my way to spinning, now all I need is a wheel. Hopefully soon, fingers crossed.

So I hope to be one of those awesome people that blog all the time about their oranized neat life but till then I will blog whenever I can about our ups and downs. Here are some pictures that show some stuff I have been up too.

Well that is us and a few things that we have been up to while I have been slacking at the blogging world. I have tons of projects to post but I will save some stuff to blog about later. I will show you next post what I made with this yarn, for those of you who don’t go to Ravelry it will be a surprise.

Tata for now!

February 14th, 2009

Happy Valentines day! Hope you all are having a special day. Nothing big going on here. My hubby and I went on a date last night and I met with another group of knitters at the local borders. Hubby was so nice, we were a few doors down from the store and I mentioned that it was Friday night the same night that a group of knitters from Ravelry meet and he told me “then let’s go”. I didn’t want to because it was our date but what a cute hubby to let me steal some of our time and make some new friends. So we stopped by Borders and I was able to chat with some local knitters I have been talking with online. And to make a short story short I want to knit socks! lol I used some birthday money that was burning a hole in my pocket and went over to Knitpicks and ordered the necessitates to knit my very first pair of socks! Yipee! I hope to make my littiest kiddo a pair of socks first since her feet are the smallest! lol ;-) I will show my goodies when they arrive. Hopefully I am not in over my head, ahhhh!

So onto my second knitted project and it is another scarf. It is a stitch in the 365 Knitting Stiches a year perpetual calendar. I used the March 12th stitch call the Lattice stitch. I used a Merino yarn called Zara. I finally took pictures.

Well a soon to be finished project is in the works and I will have to delay on posting pics since my sister in law might be peeking and it is for her. So tata for now!

February 12th, 2009

So I was challenged a couple of days ago by Caroline to find my 6th folder and get my 6th picture in it and show you guys. So my 6th pic was a video and I still can’t seem to figure that one out so I will show you my 7th pic.

Yep those are my sick white legs! lol That is my 3rd kiddo Lydia, aka The Monster. She is 10 months old and is playing in the pool with her rubby ducky, which she is eating! lol Now she is almost 2 1/2. Jeeze how time flies!

So I will be posting a picture of my finished knitted scarf soon. It is crazy windy today her in Virginia. We have been losing power on and off and have some crazy burst of wind. So easy to say I didn’t take a picture of the scarf outside! Wouldn’t want that bad boy flying away. So I will update this weekend! Oh and by the way I challenge all of you who haven’t been challenged yet to go take a peek at your 6th pic in your 6th folder. Blog about it if you want. See ya!

February 7th, 2009

Howdy all!  So I found a great fiber artist group and we have been meeting every other Saturday since the beginning of this year and I’m having a blasts! Turns out I want to learn how to spin my own yarn. I have caught the bug and will start saving for my very own spinning wheel. Many of the ladies spin their own yarn in my group and I find it so interesting and fun looking. So hopefully before the end of the year I will be a proud and newbie spinner. lol

I am still trying to catch up on posting some of my finished projects I did when I was a-wall from the blogging world.  I made my kid’s teachers some scarves for Christmas. I only have two kiddos in school but yet made five scarfs. Each of my kids have a teacher and a teacher’s assistant that is a permant helper in their class. I find it rather comforting to have two adults to each class. So I made those four and then one extra for my son’s preschool director. I did a simple dc, ch 1 scarf in red heart yarn. I also am in a 12 scarves of 2009 CAL over at the ville. So my Janurary scarf was from a pattern in Positively Crochet. The scarf is just all in sc and than has a snowflake that you hand sew on. I used white Bernat soft Boucle yarn.

My family requested hats that coverd their ears so I just modified the baby Sejia hat, from the Happy Hooker book, to fit my family. I used Vanna’s choice yarn, a lion brand yarn that has sparkles in the white yarn, (I can’t remember what is was called but I will update when I do.) and lionbrand handspun yarn.  So I guess I should call it all Lionbrand yarn hats. lol

I also finished my second knitted project which is also a scarf. Ha, soon hopefully I will learn to knit something else. It is just blocking right now and I will take pics when it blocks properly. Since this is my first time blocking anything. I have two bags in the works, one knitted and one crocheted. So ta ta for now. Have a nice weekend!

February 2nd, 2009

Hello strangers! I’m back from slacking off. I tell you what it is certainly an adjustment with my newest addition. And everytime I think I’ve got this whole 4 kid thing down one of them gets sick and the choas starts a fresh. Anywho I finally finished a project that I started almost a year ago last Febuary. So can I get a WHOO WHOO, I finished my daughters daisy afghan and it is huge!

It is seven flowers wide and eight tall. I don’t know if you can tell but there is seven different main colors and I have them going diagonal. I just did a shell border in two different shades of pink. So I am so very happy to have that finished.

I actually have been pretty busy with my crafts. I forgot to tell ya’ll that I learned how to knit. It seems like lots of my blogging buddies all had the same “I got it” moment like me cause it just clicked and I have been having lots of fun with that. For Christmas I got a set of Knitpics options harmony wood needles. They are so awesome.

p.s I don’t know if you can tell but my background on my computer is yarn. hehe I found different yarn backgrounds at lionbrand’s website.

So my first knitting project was One row handspun scarf, by Yarn Harlot. I used my only skein of Hobby Lobby I love this yarn in brown.

I also have another scarf on the needles. It is just a stitch from the 365 knittting stitches a year perpetual calendar. It is called the Lattice stitch and is on March 12th. I went to my local yarn store for the first time and picked up this yarn called Zara and is made by Filatura Di Cros. Weird huh, it is italian. Anyways it is just an extra fine merino wool. So here is my knitting work in progress.

Ok so I have done more projects than that but I have to save some more to blog about and my kids are very badly needing my attention. So hope I don’t take another month to write again! lol Now that I posted I can go read all ya’lls blogs without feeling guilty about not writing in mine.

December 23rd, 2008

Evelyn, 9 lbs 3 oz, 21 ins, Dec. 15.

Evelyn would like to say hello! She came on Monday, Dec. 15 via c-section at 10:00 am. She was an unexpected 9 pounds, 3 ounces and 21 inches long. Yeah crazy!

I couldn’t get their brother to sit still and hold the baby. But her sister’s were thrilled to hold her. Also here is finally a picture of my old stomach. By the way that pic was taken on Thanksgiving and I still had like two more weeks till I had her. I was huge and she was as high in my stomach as can be.

Also I finished two more round ripples before I had her. The bigger one is for Lydia, my third child, and the smaller pink one is for Evelyn, the newest. I used this pattern and modified it a little by only doing two large shells and one small shell. I used Pound of Love for the first one in white, bubble gum, and baby pink and it is 53 inches. The second one is in JoAnn’s Rainbow bouncle-pink, 42 inches, and I didn’t even use the whole skein.

I am sorry for taking so long but I slacked off again. I hope now that since the baby is born that everything will calm down. Ha! But a girl can dream. My hubby is going to help me post videos tonight so for you baby fans out there you can see more of her. Also still working on my oldest daughter’s daisy afghan but I don’t think I will get it done in time for Christmas. But I am still trying. Good Luck with everyone’s Christmas projects!

Merry Christmas!

November 16th, 2008

Hi everyone! I have so much to show this post. I have been trying to get back into the swing of blogging regularly when I was thrown a curve. My youngest fractured her knee. Her and her sister went down the slide together and well her sister accidentally fell on her. So after 6 days, 1 ER trip, many X-rays, and one MRI she got a pink cast. It goes from above her knee to her toes. She will be getting her cast off on Dec 12th. Which I happened to find out to be three days before my planned c-section. I had a previous c-section with my last so if I don’t go by myself then I will have a repeat c-section. (I don’t think I will last that long but that is another story entirely.)

I also have quite a bit of crochet to show. My Mother has a friend who is having a baby boy in January and we were invited to the shower the same week that all the chaos above happened so we didn’t get to go. (But she received her gifts anyways.) I told my mom I could whip her up a fleece edged blanked with booties and a hat if she bought all the supplies and she agreed. So we got all the supplies and then I tried to poke holes in the fleece which turned out to be rather difficult.  I didn’t have enough time to order an EdgeryDoo… the sewing machine poking the holes method wasn’t working out for me… so my Step-Dad sharpened a crude tool from his garage and I spent an hour poking holes in the blanket. lol So my Mom offered me an EdgerDoo as payment for my services. (YIPEE!) I ordered the new flannel, cotton kit. I have already gotten it but haven’t used it yet. I need to go out and buy the supplies for the piercing pad. Anyways I just kind of made up an edging and made the Icelandic Booties from the Annies Attice Precious Baby booties by Carolyn Christmas with a slight alteration of the pattern, (I didn’t do the puffs on the top of the bootie) and made the Sejia hat out of the Happy Hooker book with a slight alteration as well I skipped out on row 4 to make the hat smaller for a newborn. (hopefully not to small.) Oh yeah and I also embroidered his name on the blanket. My machine is a sewing/embroidery machine I can take no more credit for the embroidery than being able to correctly operate my sewing machine. lol :-)

My next project was finishing my son’s Spiderghan for Christmas which I accomplished except for weaving in the ends. Hey I have until Christmas so no hurry right!

My other next project I started was another Round Ripple this time for my pink footed child. I hope to finsh it by this weekend. I am using Pound of Love yarn by Lion Brand in Pastel pink, Bubble gum, and white. I think I have about 10 or so more rounds to go. The pattern is by Lyn at AngelCrafts and I like the pattern except next time I am going to do 2 large shells and 1 small shell around instead of 2 large and 2 small.

And last but not least I have been working on my oldest’s diasy afghan. I don’t have pics since it is just a bunch of squares still but I only have 3 more, then I border all the squares, and then put them together. So that is exciting!

Also during this busy time I have been gone my 1 year Blog-Anniversary past. So my next post will be a drawing to win a prize.

Well I think this post is long enough that I won’t try and think of anything else that happened while I was away from the blogging world besides lots of braxton-hix contractions. lol So I am off to catch up and hope to be back soon!

October 26th, 2008

Well I finally did it! I learned how to knit! Well sort of, I learned the continental knitting style of casting on and the knit stitch. It took me the whole weekend just to get comfortable with the knit stitch. So that is really what I did all weekend. Not making anything but just practicing. I was playing around with my tightness and getting faster. I feel really proud! I just practiced on some straight 8 needles and some of my stash red heart yarn. I hope to practice the pearl stitch by next weekend. That stitch looks a little more complicated so cross your fingers. I have been using KnittingHelp.com to help me out but if anyone has any more suggestions to help me out that would be AWESOME! So this is my swatch so to say. It is just me practicing the knit stitch. Don’t look to hard or you’ll see just how newbie I am.

Also I did start my son’s Spiderghan the beginning of this week. I am just using some red heart yarn in cherry red and blue. I was hoping to have it done by this weekend but got distracted by learning how to knit. (still so excited!) So this is one of the afghans I hope to have finished by Christmas. It is super easy to do! I only have three more rows in red and two more chunks of blue and I will be done. After I finish this afghan I will work some more on my diasy afghan for my oldest, little by little I will have this done. And I am still searching for the perfect afghan pattern for my youngest. I want it to be cute but not tons of work since she will grow out of it in a few years when she moves out of her toddler bed.

Well back to work hope everyone had a nice weekend!

October 19th, 2008

I don’t know if anyone comes by anymore. Can’t say I blame them.  How long have I been gone 4 months or something like that. So let me tell ya what has been going on with me. I got pregnant, got really sick, then moved out to Virginia from Utah, Hubby got a new job, had to find all new doctors and register my kids with preschool and kindergarten, unpack all our crud, then went camping for two weeks (ug) with my Mom and her husband, had three birthdays in our family and now I am finally in a routine again and got crocheting back into my life.

So I am about 32 weeks pregnant and due December 16, with a ……… GIRL. Yes we are having another girl. If you forgot I have Cassy my oldest who is 5, Carson my only son who just turned 4, Lydia my crazy child who just turned 2 and now another girl coming in just 7 short weeks. So I feel so sorry for my son, but who knows maybe he will have a brother one day. At least he has his Dad. So the baby’s name will probably be Evelyn. Don’t know about her middle name yet. Seems like I had something in mind but didn’t write it down, dope. I am a little worried about making it to the hospital if winter comes early and that the hospital is about 30 minutes away but I try not to think about it.

I finally did start crocheting again. It is a lot easier when you don’t constantly feel sick. We haven’t bought our house yet though, we are in my parents basement right now, so I don’t have a whole lot of room for my crafts. But I didn’t store my sewing machine in hopes of being able to take it out to line bags I make and what not. Also I don’t have any craft stores near me anymore. I didn’t know how spoiled I was. The closest is about 30 miles away. So buying yarn or any crafts isn’t that easy since you never seem to know what you are missing until you need it right then and there. But it has been good to be using my stash. Thank goodness for a stash. See hubby having a stash is a good thing. I have finish crocheting three new projects, starting working again on my daughter’s daisy afghan and only started one new project for my son.  I finished crocheting a pink tote for me. I just need to dig out all my sewing stuff and go buy some stuff to line the tote. I also finshed two baby sets for friends who recently had babies.

My new goals for crocheting these next few months before Christmas is to :

finish my daughter’s daisy afghan

finish my son’s spider afghan, which I just started

find a pattern for my youngest and complete it before Christmas

and last make a baby blanket for this little one in my tummy before she makes her entrance.

Oh and did I also mention I want to learn how to knit. (hehe) I’m crazy but I really want to learn.

So how have all of you been doing? I’m off to catch up on all your blogs and say hi. I will leave you with some pictures of my two baby sets I made and mailed off. The first set is a Tiramisu Baby Blanket by Alicia Paulson, I did it in purple and white Lion brand pound of love yarn. The hat and the booties are by Beverly A. Qualheim. The pictures turned out a little washed looking but the purple is actually kind of dark. The mint green blanket is just a large granny square and the hat and booties are the same as the other set.

Happy blogging and I’m back!

May 30th, 2008

Hi everyone. I’m still alive. I want to thank everyone who has been sending me messages asking about me. I just haven’t blogged in a while since my hobbies have taken a back seat. I still love looking at all your blogs and seeing everyone’s creations.

This pregnancy has been kicking my butt. It is just the nausea and vomiting that has been kicking my butt. It is something I am constantly fighting like all 24 hours of the day. I’m thankful for my husband helping out as much as he can. All the little things I used to be able to do I can’t. It is embarrassing I couldn’t tell you the last time I loaded or unloaded the dishwasher. Oh and laundry is my nemesis. We fight like crazy and yet I still lose.

I hope to still blog regularly but am afraid to bore you to death of my sickly days. So whenever I have something to talk about you will be hearing from me. Keep up all your awesome work and I will be watching. lol
